The Hollywood Helicopter Pilot Behind Extreme Aerials

Oct. 9 (Bloomberg) — Helinet Aviation’s Alan Purwin is not your average pilot. He flies with a camera mounted to his helicopter to capture aerial footage for movies and television shows. Purwin’s work often involves stunts — he has flown into a tunnel, though canyons, and nosedived down skyscrapers. Bloomberg heads to Los Angeles to meet Purwin and David Nowell, Helinet’s director of photography, to learn how they get those sweet shots.
